Engineered & Pre-Engineered System

Engineered System

The Engineered concept of Orient 227® (HFC-227ea) Clean Agent System allows a range of flexibility in design parameters. Each application requires an individual flow calculation to determine the quantity of HFC-227ea clean agent required for a specific hazard volume and its set of pipes and fittings sizes. The area coverage of each nozzle can be calculated through the Orient Flow Calculation Software version OCI 4.00. Orient Engineered System has various sizes of the Orient 227® cylinder ranging from 20 lb, 35 lb, 70 lb, 150 lb, 250 lb, 375 lb, 560 lb, 650 lb, 800 lb, 1000 lb and 1200 lb. These cylinders are super-pressurized with nitrogen to 360 psig at 70°F and have the operating temperature ranging from 32°F to 130°F. Each cylinder is equipped with a suitable back pressure valve. The cylinders are manufactured, tested and stamped in accordance with DOT 4BW500 or DOT 4BA500. The systems are designed for Total Flooding Protection against Class A, Class B and Class C fires occurring within an enclosure.  The Orient Engineered System is designed and installed in accordance with NFPA 2001 and to comply with the Orient’s Installation, Maintenance and Services Technical Manual.

Pre-Engineered System

Orient Pre-Engineered Unit is Clean Agent System pre-set quantities of “Orient 227®” (HFC-227ea) agent and specific flow rates in a set of pipes, fittings, and nozzles for various hazards. Specifically, they are limited to types and sizes by Underwriters Laboratories based on the actual fire test conducted. Orient provides units ranging from 3 lb, 6 lb, 12 lb and 18 lb that are super-pressurized to 240 psig at 70°F. The larger models are 35 lb, 70 lb, 150 lb, 250 lb, 375 lb and 560 lb in which the units are super-pressurized to 360 psig at 70°F. Each cylinder is equipped with a suitable cylinder valve. All these units are designed for Total Flooding Protection against Class A, Class B and Class C fires occurring within an enclosure. The Orient Pre-Engineered System is designed and installed in accordance with Orient’s Installation, Maintenance, and Services Technical Manual.
